Tasks are the individual assignments within a Project.
To create a task: Select the '+' icon in order to get started.
Once selected, a window will expand within the same page to complete all relevant information for the assignment. This information includes:
- Task Name (this always defaults to the Project Name until edited)
- Freelancer to be assigned
- Description/scope of services
- Skills to provide feedback on at the completion of the task
- Schedule and hours of the days freelancer are expected to work
- Fee and fee types (hourly vs. day rate, fixed fee, etc.)
- Task Templates
Once the task has been created an email will be sent to the freelancer notifying them of assignment. Until the freelancer accepts the Task, the status will remain Pending. Once accepted, the Task will become 'On-going'.
If you want to communicate with the freelancer, scroll down to the 'Messages' panel in your Task and start messaging.
Once the task is complete, you can mark 'Complete' & it will send an email notifying the freelancer/vendor. Note: For those using auto-invoicing, once a task has been marked as complete, an invoice will automatically be generated for the work.
You can create as many tasks as you want within a project, and navigate through the timeline to see the status of each.
Note that you are also able to create Draft Tasks without adding and notifying any freelancers (the Freelancer field is optional). This can be very useful when you want to prepare tasks in advance. The Task will have a 'Draft' status, and to make it live, simply add a freelancer.
